BIOGRAPHY

1978 I was approached by the Famous Cresswell Colliery band ( Championship) in Derbyshire to become there Principal Euphonium player, of which I was provided a Job at the Colliery and a house, all part of the incentive to move to Derbyshire, of which I accepted. Again I played in several competitions and concerts and performed many Solo items to very large audiences. I enjoyed this position very much indeed.
1975-1977 I was again with The St Keverne band in Cornwall on Principal Euphonium, and also formed a 10 Piece brass group which we did a tour of Cornwall with Goff Richards, whom I and my family have been personal friends for many years. During this time the band achieved 3rd Section National finals winners in 1976, the Only Cornish Band to achieve this title to date.
1970-1974 I was a Euphonium Player for the Camborne Town Band. In 1974 we won the World Championship in Kerkrade Holland, and also achieved 5th  place at the National finals (Championship Section ) in the Royal Albert Hall

2005 I was the Musical Director of the Wolverton Town Band, a new appointment as I have now settled in the area and wanted to get back into my music as it has been a big part of my life, this is a challenging role as the Band in recent years has lost its way and needs expert assistance in building the musical standard up again, upon which they have called upon my services to hopefully achieve this. 2001-2002 I was approached to play Baritone for the Travelsphere Holidays Band, formerly GUS Footwear & Munn & Felton’s, one of the premier Brass Bands in the country, this position I accepted, under the Musical direction of Frank Renton of BBC Listen to the Band Radio programme fame. During my stay with this wonderful band we achieved great success at the National area finals by winning the Midlands area champions title. But again due to work pressure at that time I had to leave my position to concentrate on my career.

1994-1995 I was the Musical Director of the Hayle town band in Cornwall, which also involved training the youth section, including beginners. The band achieved great success during my time with them and I got a local company in the area to provide sponsorship for the band to enable them to acquire new instruments and provide free coach travel to Concerts & competitions, which assisted the Band a great deal.

1993-1994 I was the Musical Director of the Redruth Town Band In Cornwall, again I achieved much success such as Cornish Champions and west of England champions to name but a few.

1981-1993 I was the Bandmaster & principal Euphonium player of The St Keverne band in Cornwall, again achieving successes such as World Music Festival Champions in Germany, Cornish champions for several years, also personally achieving many Solo awards throughout my time.
